Photos taken at the AIB Better Ireland Awards Presentation

Croí na Gaillimhe Resource Centre, Society of St Vincent de Paul proposes to support vulnerable children through the implementation of an Intergenerational Programme of learning. This programme will target specifically children from socio-economic disadvantaged backgrounds and retired older adults. The National University of Ireland Galway has agreed to outreach “Living Scenes Model” of intergenerational learning and will provide facilitator training, monitoring and ongoing evaluation and support for this programme in Croí na Gaillimhe Resource Centre. Detailed University Research carried out on the “Living Scenes Programmes” over the last ten years clearly indicates the powerful and positive impact of Intergenerational Learning on the lives of the children involved.

Croí na Gaillimhe was shortlisted for the AIB Better Ireland Awards 2009 / 2010! The programme is run by the AIB and is aimed at providing funding for projects that support and help children. We are one of three projects chosen by our local branch and after a very competitive vote, we were delighted to come second in the competition and to receive €3,000.00 towards our 'Living Scenes' Intergenerational project. The below photos were taken at the AIB Better Ireland Awards Presentation on 14th April 2010.
